Deepak, a farmer, boards a crowded train with his new bride, Phool Kumari. All brides wear similar outfits with veils covering their faces. Deepak dozes off and, in the rush to leave, accidentally takes the wrong bride home, leaving Phool behind with another groom, Pradeep.
His family is shocked by the mistake, but the unknown bride, calling herself Pushpa, hides her true identity. Meanwhile, Phool, stranded at another station, refuses to return home and stays with Manju Mai, who runs a tea stall. Deepak reports Phool missing, and SI Shyam Manohar suspects Pushpa might be a thief. He follows her and later discovers her real name is Jaya.
Jaya reveals she was forced to marry Pradeep, who abused her. When Pradeep comes to take her back and threatens her, Manohar warns him about legal action and lets Jaya go free. Meanwhile, Jaya helps search for Phool by distributing sketches. Thanks to her efforts, Phool reunites with Deepak, while Jaya leaves for Dehradun to pursue her studies.
